Astros Stage Comeback in 2023 MLB Playoffs: Scores, Results, and Schedule

In the LDS round, three of the four best seeds in these playoffs were eliminated.

Astros Stage Comeback in 2023 MLB Playoffs: Wednesday night, the Texas Rangers were defeated for the first time in the 2023 MLB postseason by the Houston Astros in ALCS Game 3 at Globe Life Field. The Astros have an opportunity to tie the series on Thursday, while the ALCS Game 4 ALCS-bound Rangers, who began the postseason 7-0, will attempt to return to winning ways.

A critical day in the LCS round is Thursday. The Arizona Diamondbacks are also hosting the Philadelphia Phillies as the NLCS relocates to Phoenix, Arizona, in addition to hosting ALCS Game 4. The Phillies lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 and are two victories away from claiming their second consecutive NL pennant. Eight days after shutting out the Dodgers in the NLDS at Chase Field, the D-backs are hosting their second game of the playoffs at this location.

In the LDS round, three of the four best seeds in these playoffs were eliminated. The Phillies defeated the 104th-placed Braves, the Rangers swept the 101st-placed Orioles, and the D-backs eliminated the 100th-placed Dodgers. From its initial twelve teams, the playoff field has since been reduced to its final four. In the Wild Card Series, the Marlins, Brewers, Blue Jays, and Rays were all eliminated.
