Super Bowl LVIII Venue: Check Out Allegiant Stadium Features

Super Bowl LVIII, set for February 11, will take place at the iconic Allegiant Stadium, known as the "Death Star" for its striking black façade and outstanding construction.

Super Bowl LVIII Venue: Everything is set for Super Bowl LVIII, which takes place on February 11 at the magnificent Allegiant Stadium. Known as the “Death Star” because of its striking black façade and outstanding construction, Allegiant Stadium has been home to the Las Vegas Raiders since the 2020 season.

Along with the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the game will determine if the San Francisco 49ers—champions of the XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV, and XXIX SB editions—join the elite group of teams who have won the Vince Lombardi Trophy six times.

Or, to demonstrate that, having participated in and won four Super Bowls in the last five years, the Kansas City Chiefs are the league’s newest dynasty (IV, LIV, and LVII). In addition, the Chiefs want to make history by being the first team to win two titles in twenty years, since the Patriots did so in the XXXVIII and XIX editions.

Where will Super Bowl LVIII take place?

In terms of features and design, the Allegiant Stadium is the most technologically sophisticated stadium in the whole globe. The NFL insisted on a far more contemporary and pleasant stadium than the ageing Alameda Country Stadium, therefore building the stadium was a requirement for the Raiders to be allowed to depart Oakland.

Allegiant Stadium Features

  • Location: Paradise, Nevada
  • Capacity: 65,000 fans, but can be expanded to 72,000.
  • Cost: 1.8 billion dollars.
  • Teams: The stadium serves as the home of the Raiders and the University of Las Vegas Rebels.
  • NFL debut: Sept. 21, 2020, with the Saints vs. Raiders game
  • Construction time: 3 years

In order to create an empty end facing the Las Vegas Strip, the seats are arranged in a “horseshoe” pattern. There is a 118-foot tower there dedicated to the team’s founder, Al Davis, and it is lit perpetually.

Located next to a motorway and the Las Vegas airport, it runs a mixed-use commercial development with a rental car centre outside, adhering to the recent trend of constructing stadiums that double as shopping centres with convenient ground and air access.

Because of its “movable” walls, the retractable natural grass on the field allows it to be moved outside the stadium to receive sunshine, just like at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. For Rebels games, artificial grass can also take its place.

One of its most notable technological aspects is its glass exterior, which has a film covering it to give it a lovely, dark tone. Made of ETFE polymer, the roof is retractable and semi-translucent. On the stadium’s main façade is a sizable screen. 1,700 Wi-Fi access points are present.
