Google Pay Privacy: How to Delete Your Google Pay Transaction History

In the event of an anomaly, such as if money was debited from your account but the recipient did not receive it, you can notify your bank.

How to Delete Your Google Pay Transaction History: Our government has promoted contactless payments, which are promoted as being simpler and quicker. Such transactions are safer, and all of them are also recorded. Since the process is contactless, electronic payments are viewed as more hygienic in the post-COVID-19 world. Google Pay is one such “virtual wallet”-based payment method.

When registering or linking your Google Account to Google Pay, you can only use Google Pay in India. The registration must be completed using an Indian mobile number and bank account. This is because the Google Pay App should not be used abroad.

How to Delete Your Google Pay Transaction History

Step 1: Launch ‘Google Chrome’.

Enter’my.account.google.com’ followed by a search.

Step 3: The search option result is displayed. Click ‘Google Account’ (where you can manage your information, activity, security options, and privacy settings).

Step 4: On the subsequent page, select the third option labelled “Data & Personalization.”

After that, select the ‘My Activity’ option.

Select the three parallel lines (upper left corner of the page) in Step 6.

Step 7: Next, from the ‘Google my activity page. Select the option ‘Delete activity by’.

Step 8: A new page will appear, requesting that you choose the topic or product to delete.

Step 9: In the ‘Delete by date option. You must choose ‘Day’ (such as Today, yesterday, the last 7 days, the last 30 days, and all time). If you wish to expunge everything, choose the ‘All time’ option.

Step 10: Select a date after that (for example, before March 17 or after March 17).

Choose “Google Pay” from the “All products” menu.

Step 12: Finally, select the ‘Delete’ option. A window titled “Before you delete” will appear; click “Ok.”

Step 13: A second prompt will appear, requesting that you “delete all of your Google Pay activity.” Select the ‘Delete’ option by scrolling down.

Step 14: After deleting, a new pop-up will request that you ‘View controls’. Choose the ‘Close’ option.

It can take up to twelve hours to erase transaction history.

How Google Pay functions

You will be required to input and save your payment method, shipping address, etc. on your Google Account. During a transaction, it may be necessary to select a payment method, add an optional shipping address, or provide additional information.

On the payment sheet displaying the supported payment methods, select the one you wish to use, and Google Pay will securely return the chosen payment token.

Your application will then send the payment token and other purchase details to its backend. Now, the backend will execute the transaction and send the payment token to the service provider.
