Such children should be noted in the database as “migrated” or “temporarily unavailable”, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) said.

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia said that out of 916 government schools, 897 recorded a pass percentage of 90 percent. In 396 schools, 100 percent students have passed.

Of the 5,56,26 students who wrote the exams at around 1,000 centres across the state, 3,8,947 passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 61.80, marginally better than 61.73 per cent in 2019 during normal times.

CBSE 10th and 12th examinations started from 15th February 2020. The last paper of the tenth was on 18th March. In some areas of Delhi, the riot erupted, which led to the suspension of examination centres in East Delhi.

In its affidavit filed before the court, the Delhi University has stated that the examinations would begin on August 17 and conclude on September 8.

On June 29, the apex court had told the ICAI to be flexible and consider allowing students to opt out of the exams, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Pinto, the university, in an effort to support the final year students to honour their job placement offers, had scheduled end semester examinations for final year students from May 26 in online mode.
