Anil Surinder Kapoor, an Indian actor and film producer, was born in Chembur on December 24, 1956, into a Punjabi Hindu family. His stunning appearance and skill set have brought him success and recognition on a global scale. His parents, Nirmal Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor, came from a family of actors and film producers. He went to Chembur, East Mumbai’s Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School. Additionally, he attended Fort’s St. Xavier’s College in South Mumbai.

Career

In 1970, Kapoor starred in his first motion picture, “Tu Payal Mein Geet.” He made his Hindi cinema debut in “Hamare Tumhare” (1979), and he was cast in the lead role of “Vamsa Vruksham” (1980). In 1983, the actor debuted in a Kannada film titled “Pallavi Anu Pallavi.” With “Mashaal” (1984), Kapoor rose to fame in Bollywood and was recognized with a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He had an appearance in the 1986 film “Karma,” then in 1987, he was cast in the lead role of the box office smash “Mr. India,” which catapulted him into superstardom. After a number of highly successful films, Kapoor acted in the critically praised film “Pukar” (2000). The actor produced “Badhaai Ho Badhaai,” his feature film debut, in 2002.

He then went on to produce “Gandhi, My Father,” a multi-award-winning film, in 2007. Kapoor appeared in the 2008 film “Slumdog Millionaire” in a supporting capacity. At the 66th Golden Globes, this movie took home four Golden Globes and made $352 million worldwide. 2010 saw Kapoor appear in eight seasons of the American television series “24.”
