The actor, whose complete name is Anthony Paul Ramos Martinez, was born in New York City, New York, on November 1, 1991. Martinez attended Bushwick, Brooklyn, with his mother and siblings during his childhood. He is of Puerto Rican descent. At school assemblies, he frequently performed Motown songs with the Halsey Trio, a student organization. Following his graduation from New Utrecht High School, Martinez was granted admission to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy on a complete scholarship. He received his diploma from the academy subsequent to finishing its musical theater program.

Martinez debuted on stage as Sonny LaTierri in a 2011 production of the musical film “Grease” for the stage. He auditioned for “Hamilton,” another Lin-Manuel Miranda production, at the off-Broadway Public Theater a couple of years later. After being appointed in the play for two roles, he commenced his performances in the production in 2015. In 2017, he issued “The Freedom,” his debut extended play as a solo artist. In 2019, he contracted with Republic Records and the label released “The Good & The Bad,” his debut studio album. Martinez was appointed as the main actor in “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” the seventh installment in the immensely successful “Transformers” film franchise, in 2021. He would be following in the esteemed footsteps of Shia LaBeouf and Mark Wahlberg. In the subsequent year, he was cast as the lead in the imminent Marvel television series “Ironheart.”
