Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Biography: Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the new interim prime minister of Pakistan, is a political figure from Balochistan. Balochistan’s Kakar was elected to the Senate in 2018 and has been an extremely active politician. Prior to his election to the upper chamber, he also served as a spokesperson for the provincial government. The newly appointed interim PM was born in 1972 in Muslim Bagh and attended St. Francis School in Quetta.

Mir stated that the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) lawmaker represents both Pashtuns and Balochs, as he is from the Kakar tribe of Pashtun ethnicity.

The senator also has strong ties with PML-N and PPP, two mainstream political parties. Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement announcing the selection of the lawmaker as the eighth interim chief of government.

The decision was reached after a second round of consultations between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and National Assembly Opposition Leader Raja Riaz, and President Arif Alvi has endorsed a summary to this effect.Both the PML-N and PPP had previously stated that a politician could be appointed to the coveted position.

The political parties comprising the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance emphasized the need for the continuance of economic policies and projects initiated by outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the transfer of power.

Moreover, Kakar and his party had strong connections with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during its time in power, and he was among the Balochistan experts consulted by former prime minister Imran Khan.

Therefore, BAP frequently encountered criticism from PML-N for this reason.However, when the party switched sides, PTI criticized it.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Biography: The newly appointed interim premier was born in 1971 in the Balochistan district of Killa Saifullah’s Muslim Bagh region. After completing his primary education at St. Francis School in Quetta, he matriculated at Cadet College in Kohat, but returned to the provincial capital of Balochistan after the death of his father.

The senator has a Master’s degree in political science and sociology from Balochistan University. Senator Kakar began his professional career as a teacher in his hometown. He is also one of BAP’s founding members and was designated the party’s central spokesperson in 2018.

The designated interim prime minister also serves as chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis. In 2008, he ran for election to the National Assembly from Quetta on the PML-Q ticket.

Political Career

He stood in the 2018 Pakistan Senate Elections and anticipated victory. He swore an oath on March 12. After his victory, numerous political parties paid him a visit. He gave Balochistan’s development special consideration. In addition, he previously served as a spokesperson for the Balochistan government.

Kakar spent several years as a journalist before entering politics. Kakar is a staunch advocate for the Baloch people’s liberties. He has spoken out against human rights violations in Balochistan and advocated for the province to have greater autonomy. In addition, he is an advocate for peace and reconciliation in Balochistan.
