Early Years

Dan Reynolds was born Daniel Coulter Reynolds in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 14, 1987. His parents are Christene M. Callister and author/attorney Ronald Reynolds, and he grew up in a Mormon household with eight siblings. After graduating from Bonanza High School, Dan matriculated at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dan volunteered as a missionary at the age of 19 and spent two years in Nebraska.

Reynolds transferred to Brigham Young University after completing his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to pursue music, marketing, and communications. Dan Reynolds’s Personal Life

Dan wed Aja Volkman on March 5, 2011, and the couple has since welcomed four children. He and Aja founded the indie rock duo Egyptian in 2011 and released the “Egyptian – EP” in 2012. Reynolds announced in April 2018 that he and Volkman were divorcing, but a few months later he stated that they had reconciled. In September 2022, he announced that they had once again separated.
