David Muir Biography: The birthplace of David Muir is Syracuse, New York. He is an ABC News anchor and Emmy-winning American journalist. In addition to serving as the editor and host of “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir,” he also co-hosts the ABC-broadcast program “20/20.”

Muir was reared in a Catholic household by his parents, Pat Mills and Ronald Muir, during his childhood in Onondaga Hills. From 2014 to 2020, ABC News’ primary anchor for breaking news and special event coverage was George Stephanopoulos. Muir assumed this position in 2021. Until 2003, he held the positions of anchor and reporter at WCVB-TV in Boston, subsequent to his departure from WTVH.
