“My agent informed me this morning that I am no longer employed by CNN,” “I am awestruck,” he wrote. “After seventeen years at CNN, I expected someone in management to have the decency to inform me explicitly. I was never informed that I would no longer be able to continue doing the work I have enjoyed at the network. There are evidently some larger issues at play. Having said that, I would like to salute my coworkers and the numerous teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most gifted journalists in the industry, and I wish them success.”

CNN also issued a statement in response to the startling news of the host’s departure from the network. CNN CEO Chris Licht stated in a statement:

“Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years.” We wish him well and will assist him in his future endeavours.

When CNN This Morning debuted in November 2022, Lemon assumed the role of presenter. Licht insists, despite the host’s shocking revelation, “We are committed to its success.”
