John Legend Biography: John Roger Stephens was born in Springfield, Ohio, on December 28, 1978. Ronald and Phyllis, his parents, had four children. His seamstress mother was also the conductor of the church choir and a vocalist. His father was a drummer and an employee of an International Harvester facility.
