Julia Michaels was born Julia Carin Cavazos in Davenport, Iowa, on November 13, 1993. Her older sister Jaden, who is also a songwriter, has similar professional goals as her. Julie Scriven is the daughter of Juan Manuel Cavazos and Julie Scriven. John Michaels was the identity that Juan adopted in order to pursue an acting career. Twelve years after her family relocated to Santa Clarita, California, Julia began performing.
