Keith Urban Biography: Keith Lionel Urban, who was born in New Zealand, spent his childhood years in Australia. He was raised with an appreciation for American country music by his parents. A guitar was presented to him at the age of six and a ukulele was given to him at four, respectively, in recognition of his early interest in music. The early influences of Urban mirrored the country music preferences of his parents, to which he was raised listening. Urban had won a number of talent competitions prior to his adolescent decision to join a country band. During those formative years, he developed his distinctive approach, which fused rock guitar with country music. His debut studio album was published in 1991 in his native Australia, prior to his relocation to Nashville.

This paved the way for a successful career with Grammy, Country Music Association, and Academy of Country Music honors, in addition to platinum-selling albums like “Defying Gravity” and “Fuse.” Urban remained as a judge for the renowned singing competition “American Idol” until its original run concluded in 2016, having been selected for season 12. His most recent studio album, Graffiti U, was released in 2018. The album featured four singles, including ‘Female,’ ‘Parallel Line,’ ‘Coming Home,’ and ‘Never Comin Down.’ It was nominated for a C.M.A. Award for Album of the Year. The musician published his most recent single, ‘We Were,’ in May of 2018. The Speed of Now Tour, which commenced on April 28, 2022, has caused considerable disruption in venues across the United States and Canada. Its North American leg of the tour will continue until December 17.

Urban returned to Australia in June 2006 in order to wed actress Nicole Kidman. Following sixteen years of matrimony, they have two daughters by the names of Sunday Rose Kidman Urban (14) and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban (12).
