Marcus created Trophy Room, a Jordan-inspired shoe store modelled after Michael Jordan’s Trophy Room in the Jordan family home, which houses a collection of the rarest and most unique Air Jordans, upon his 2016 retirement from basketball. During his first game with The Knights, Marcus made the most significant UCF-related headlines. During his freshman year at UCF, he wore Air Jordans to a preseason game played by an Adidas-sponsored team. Due to Marcus’s actions, Adidas terminated the contract, costing the university approximately $3 million in sponsorship revenue.

In an interview years later with Complex, the former student-athlete stated, “They told me during my visit that I would be able to wear Jordans without any issues.”

Marcus was arrested in Omaha in 2012 for disorderly conduct after he fought two women in the hotel driveway early in the morning. When the hotel staff was unable to stop Marcus from drinking, they called the police for assistance.
