Tim Southee Biography: Born in Northland on 11 December 1988, Tim Southee is a New Zealand international cricketer. He plays all forms of the game and is predominantly a right-arm fast-medium bowler, but his ability to hit the ball hard lower down the order has also been noted.
Southee, the current vice-captain of the New Zealand cricket team, debuted in international competition at the age of 19, making him one of New Zealand’s youngest cricketers.
During his academic years, Southee excelled at both cricket and rugby. Southee made his ICC Under-19 World Cup début in 2006 against Bangladesh in Colombo, Sri Lanka, at the age of 17. His Under-19 career consisted of 13 one-day matches, including 10 in ICC Under-19 World Cups.
On 19 February 2007 at the age of 18, he made his first-class debut for Northern Districts.

Tim Southee Career
Southee was named to the New Zealand roster for two Twenty20 international matches against England on 30 January 2008. In the first game, he obtained 1/38-scale figures. Southee was New Zealand’s top bowler in the second match, with figures of 2/22 from four overs.
Southee was awarded one of New Zealand Cricket’s central contracts in April after becoming the nation’s most promising cricketer at the end of the 2007-2008 season.
From May to July of 2008, he was selected for his first international tour, to England, Ireland, and Scotland. He played one Test at Lord’s and seven one-day internationals during this tour.
Southee and Trent Boult formed a devastating new-ball partnership for the New Zealand team, especially under Brendon McCullum’s stewardship. Southee was a formidable opponent, particularly when there was a little assistance for the seamers, due to his ability to swing the ball in both directions and McCullum’s desire to ensure that his premier fast bowlers could always take wickets.

Southee assumed the role of captain for the T20I series against West Indies during the 2017-18 domestic season, as Kane Williamson decided to take a break ahead of upcoming crucial tours.
Achievement
In 2008, he scored 77 against England in Napier, New Zealand, which is his highest Test score. His 7-64 against India at Bengaluru in 2012 is his greatest Test performance to date, but it was not enough to win the match for New Zealand. Southee’s crowning achievement in one-day internationals occurred at the WestPac Stadium in Wellington during the 2015 World Cup against England, when his spell of 7-33 bowled the English out for a meager total that New Zealand then chased down.
