In compliance with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) under the Government of India, the Department of Economics at Aligarh Muslim University recently marked the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week-2023. The event saw the administration of the Integrity Pledge by Prof. Shehroz Alam Rizvi, Chairman of the Department of Economics at AMU, to both the faculty members and staff.
Prof. Rizvi emphasized the importance of taking the integrity pledge, stressing that it fosters a sense of responsibility and encourages individuals to become disciplined and honest citizens. He underscored the necessity of eradicating corruption as a preliminary step towards economic development, as corrupt practices can deplete productive and financial resources, hindering progress.
