NIRF Ranking 2022 List: Delhi University slips down, list of top-25 institutes

In the University category of NIRF, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia got the second and third positions.

NIRF Ranking 2022: The University of Delhi (DU) slipped one place to 13th position this year in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Education. Moreover, in the overall rankings also, DU dropped from 19th position last year to 23rd position.

In the University category of NIRF, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia got the second and third positions. Delhi University was ranked 12th in NIRF last year, 11th in 2020, 13th in 2019 and 7th in 2018. The list of ranks has been prepared in various categories including universities, colleges, research institutes. DU’s Atma Ram stood above Sanatan Dharma College, Kirori Mal, St. Stephen’s and Shri Ram College of Commerce and managed to make it to the top 10 colleges in the country.

Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College stood seventh. Kirori Mal 10th, St Stephen’s 11th and Shri Ram College of Commerce 12th. Five DU colleges have featured in the top 10 colleges according to AIRF and Miranda House has been ranked at the top for the sixth year in a row. Hindu College improved in rank from ninth to second position. Lady Shri Ram College for Women, which finished second last year, stood at fifth position.
