According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thede issued a statement that read, “Thank you to all the incredibly talented cast members, guest stars, writers, directors, editors, and crew members who have made A Black Lady Sketch Show an Emmy-winning success.” “I would like to acknowledge in particular the Black women and other women of colour who excelled in every discipline at ABLSS. I am also indebted to Issa Rae and Jax Media, Amy Gravitt, Casey Bloys, and the entire teams at HBO, Max, and Warner Bros. Discovery for their support.
