Big Night of Musicals 2024 Host
Jason Manford, an actor, singer, and comedian, is our evening’s compere for the third year in a row.
Jason made his own West End debut in 2012 as the Italian barber Pirelli in Sweeney Todd. Since then, he has established himself as a true musical theatre star, appearing in hit shows like The Producers, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium last year. As such, he is the ideal host for this extravagant musical.
“I’m thrilled to be hosting The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals once again,” Jason adds. We have another incredible lineup of chart-topping performances for the Manchester Arena patrons to enjoy. And the best part about this performance is that there are no admission fees!”
Will there be special guests?
Beverley Knight, star of Bodyguard, Sister Act, and Drifters Girl, who served as another judge alongside Jason on the ITV talent competition Starstruck, is joining Jason this year. The legendary British soul singer will surprise select National Lottery winners in addition to performing one of her greatest hits that evening.
Beverley said, “I’m thrilled to be returning to be a part of this amazing event. The actors and many others who work in both big and small theatres and contribute to what makes a night at the theatre so memorable depend heavily on the assistance that National Lottery players provide to the theatrical sector. I’m excited to watch this incredible group of musicians in Manchester perform beloved songs.”
Beverley will play Deloris van Cartier once more in the rerun of Sister Act, which opens on March 15, 2024, at the Dominion Theatre in the West End.
