Netflix’s October Lineup: Netflix will release new movies and television programs in October. To commemorate the spookiest month of the year, the streaming service will release Mike Flanagan’s The Fall of the House of Usher, the latest entry in his horror-centric Flanaverse.
The miniseries from the creator of Haunting of Hill House follows ruthless siblings Roderick (Bruce Greenwood) and Madeline Usher (Mary McDonnell) who have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege, and power — all of which is on the verge of collapsing when the heirs to the Usher dynasty begin to die at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth. The narrative is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s body of work.
The third season of Lupin, a Netflix original, stars Omar Sy as Assane Diop, who has fashioned himself as the 21st century Arsène Lupin, the gentleman burglar depicted in Maurice Leblanc’s mystery novels. As the story continues, Assane is in hiding, away from his wife and infant. The ghosts of his past return with a ferocity just as he develops a plan to reunite and flee with his family.
In Pain Hustlers, Emily Blunt and Chris Evans are at the center of a criminal conspiracy involving a pharmaceutical company. In Fair Play, Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich are pitted against one another at a ruthless financial firm.
And for those still depressed by the news that Dune: Part Two won’t reach theaters until 2024, you’ll be able to relive the thrill of Denis Villeneuve’s epic first entry in the sci-fi saga next month, when Dune arrives on streaming services.
