NEET-UG Exam Guidelines: On May 7, 2023, National Testing Agency will administer the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG medical entrance exams. Students who wish to enrol in undergraduate medical programmes at various medical schools across the nation must pass this exam.
As the NEET exam will be administered on Sunday, candidates must adhere to the NTA’s exam day guidelines to ensure a smooth and trouble-free exam.
One of the most important guidelines is the dress code and the permitted and prohibited items inside the exam centre. The NTA has issued strict guidelines regarding acceptable attire and other items candidates may bring into the examination room.
NEET-UG 2023: Dress Code
The NEET UG 2021 dress code is simple and strict. Candidates must wear light clothing with half-length sleeves and no large buttons, brooches/insignias, flowers, etc., along with Salwar/pants. In terms of footwear, only sandals and slippers are permitted. Exceptions are made for individuals with medical conditions who must wear shoes.
NEET-UG: Prohibited Items
The examination centre will provide stationery items such as pencils, pens, and erasers, so candidates may not bring them into the examination room. The following items are strictly forbidden within the exam centre:
- Mobile phones, pagers, calculators, and smartwatches are electronic devices.
- Wallets, purses, and other similar items.
- Consumables such as food and drinks.
- Accessories such as earrings, rings, and bracelets.
- These include pencils, pens, erasers, and rulers.
NEET-UG: Items permitted within the examination centre
Admit Card and Photo ID: Candidates must bring both the NEET UG 2021 Admit Card and a valid photo ID, such as an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, or Passport.
Candidates are required to carry a face mask and a small bottle of hand sanitizer in a transparent plastic bag.
Medical certificate: Candidates with diabetes or any other medical condition are permitted to bring a medical certificate from a licenced physician to the examination room.
To avoid last-minute issues, candidates are advised to arrive at the exam site at least one hour before the reporting time listed on the admit card. To ensure a smooth and hassle-free exam experience, it is imperative to adhere to the dress code and guidelines regarding permitted and prohibited items.
