On May 3, 2023, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the development of Bhogapuram International Airport.

Capacity will reach 18 million in the final phase. However, passenger growth demand will determine the project’s completion timeline.
