Meaning of Chandra Darshan

One of the most venerated gods in Hindu mythology is Chandra Dev. The moon is regarded by Hindus as an auspicious planet and is also linked to knowledge, chastity, and benevolence. It is said that King Prajapati Daksha’s daughters, the 27 Nakshatras, are Chandra Dev’s wives. King Daksha is also the biological father of Mercury or Buddha.

Worshipping the moon, according to believers, will bring prosperity and richness into their lives.

In the Hindu faith, the first moon sighting following Amavasya is of immense sacred significance. On the day of Chandra Darshan, people observe a 12-hour fast, which they don’t break until they have seen the new moon. Hinduism views the moon as one of the most significant heavenly bodies since it stands for intelligence, vigour, purity, sensitivity, and happiness. It is highly lucky to see the moon on the day of Chandra Darshan as it brings wealth and fortune. On this day, devotees offer prayers to Chandra Dev or Lord Chandra.

The moon is also credited with bringing meditation and focus as well as controlling the power of the mind.
