Arlene Sorkin, 67, who portrayed the eccentric but lovable Calliope Jones on the serial opera Days of Our Lives, passed away recently. The actress passed away Thursday. It took longer than expected to determine the cause of mortality. Since 1992, Sorkin has provided the voice of the DC Comics villain Harley Quinn, a role in which she has achieved tremendous success.

From 1984 to 1990, Arlene Sorkin brought her comic timing and flair to the role of Calliope on Days of our Lives, and she reprised the role in 1992, 2001, and 2006. She made her final performance appearance in 2020.

Her Career
In her first moments on DAYS, Calliope was designing a dress for Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) while working at Liz Curtis’s (Gloria Loring) clothing store. Calliope’s endless assortment of unusual and creative headwear became one of her distinguishing characteristics.
Then, after co-hosting a talk show with Jennifer Horton, Calliope fled town and returned as a wedding planner. The character Eugene Bradford, portrayed by John de Lancie, wed her.
She voiced Harley Quinn for the first time in Batman: The Animated Series, which marked the beginning of Sorkin’s lengthy association with the DC Universe.
She has reprised the role in a variety of media, including iconic DC video games and animated series such as Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Gotham Girls, Justice League, and Static Shock.
Throughout her career, Sorkin has appeared on numerous television programmes, including Duet, Open House, Dream On, and Perry Mason: The Case of the Killer Kiss.
