Fans have speculated whether Carrie ever went under the knife, as one Instagram commenter went so far as to claim that they “can hardly recognize her anymore” under a January 2023 video post she shared.
The person wrote, “I apologize if I offended her, but I just don’t understand why she had so much plastic surgery when she was already beautiful.”
However, the “Ghost Story” singer denied altering her appearance following her 2017 accident, in which she tripped and fell outside her Nashville residence, receiving 40 stitches in her face. During an interview the following year with Redbook, she referred to rumors about her appearance as “sad.”
“Every other week, I’m featured in a magazine for something insane. It’s a shame because the truth is equally fascinating. The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” singer, who is married to NFL alum Mike Fisher, confessed, “I wish I had gotten some amazing plastic surgery to make this [scar] look better.”

“I was bringing the dogs outside for their final elimination when I tripped. There was a single stride, but I did not release the leashes! Priorities, indeed! Consequently, my left hand is healthy. She explained on The Bobby Bones Show, “I tried to catch myself, but I just missed a step.” “Had I fallen in any other location, I would have been alright. However, one misstep ruined everything.”
Carrie acknowledged that she had been “fortunate” during her “healing process.”
“I was at a point where I didn’t know how things were gonna end up. I didn’t know what it was gonna heal like,” she continued. “I was worried [my son] might be scared of me. But now if I put makeup on, he’s like, ‘Mommy, your boo-boo’s all gone.’”
The Oklahoma native also said she was “physically” feeling “pretty darn good” via her website at the time. “My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90 percent there … and the doctors say that last 10 percent will come in time,” she wrote. “And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I feel more like myself than I have in quite some time.”
