What Happened to Fox News’ Bret Baier?

Recently, Fox News renewed Bret Baier’s contract. Bret Baier will remain the presenter and executive editor of Special Report after his current multi-year contract with Fox News is renewed.

The terms were kept confidential. “Bret has skillfully covered some of the most significant news stories of our time,” said Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, in a statement. We are delighted that he will continue his distinguished career in journalism with Fox News for many years to come.

In Trump’s first sit-down interview with FOX News since he was indicted, FOX host Bret Baier mercilessly confronts him on his indictment lies and fact-checks him repeatedly in real time on air, leaving him flustered.

In 2019, Baier inked a multiyear contract. In addition, he will continue to serve as the network’s most prominent political anchor. Since January 2009, Baier has presided over Special Report. In the most recent quarter, Special Report averaged 2.11 million viewers.

In 2023, Bret Baier does not have cancer and is not experiencing any health problems. Paul Baier, the son of Bret Baier, is recuperating from his fourth open-heart surgery and has “made leaps and bounds,” per his father.

In an exclusive Zoom interview for this week’s issue, the Fox News anchor, his wife Amy, and their 13-year-old son discuss Paul’s most recent, and hoped-for final, operation.

Paul was born with five congenital cardiac defects, and according to Baier, “his heart was essentially pumping the wrong way before delivery.”

Paul now believes that the COVID-19 outbreak has made his rehabilitation “easier,” as he is not “losing out” on in-person learning because it is virtual anyway.

Bret Baier Biography

Since joining Fox News Channel, Bret Baier has covered all significant political events. Baier was born to a mixed German and Irish family in Rumson, New Jersey.

He was raised Catholic and graduated in 1988 from Marist institution, a private Roman Catholic secondary institution in Atlanta, Georgia.

Baier most recently co-anchored FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage with Martha MacCallum from The Story, which had the highest election night viewership in the history of cable news with 14,1 million viewers.

During the 2020 election season, Baier and MacCallum co-anchored coverage of the 2020 presidential debates as well as the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

In addition, the first 2020 presidential debate attracted an estimated 18 million viewers, the most in the history of cable news.
