How Did George Michael Die: Fans were taken aback by the untimely demise of George Michael in 2016, as his music had engrossed audiences worldwide ever since his ascent to fame in the 1980s.

Michael began a flourishing solo career after concluding his tenure with the megasuccessful musical duo Wham!, during which time he amassed millions of records. However, internal affairs regarding his personal life were not devoid of discord. His mother, Lesley Angold Panayiotou, and his first love, Anselmo Feleppa, both passed away in the 1990s, which precipitated one of his most depressing periods.

Michael and his record label engaged in a protracted legal dispute in the years that followed. 1998 witnessed his public revelation of his sexual orientation in a park in Beverly Hills. Following that, he was incarcerated for a multitude of legal issues involving substance use and driving under the influence.

Although Michael managed to overcome a portion of his challenges prior to his passing in 2016, his family and friends prefer that he be remembered for his philanthropy and benevolence rather than his hardships.

How then did George Michael pass away? The subsequent details pertain to his premature demise and the lasting impact he made.

How Did George Michael Die?

At home on December 25, 2016, Michael passed away. His age at the moment of passing away was 53 years. “Inconclusive” results were obtained from the autopsy conducted in the days following Michael’s death. At the time, the Thames Valley police described Michael’s demise as “unexplained but not suspicious.”

Over the subsequent months, extensive testing was conducted, which ultimately determined that Michael passed away from natural causes. Myocarditis, obese liver, and dilated cardiomyopathy were the causes of death for Michael, as determined by the coroner conducting an autopsy.

Dilated cardiomyopathy, as defined by the Mayo Clinic, is a cardiac condition characterized by constriction of the left ventricle and impaired blood pumping function. With the deterioration of the muscle, cardiac failure may result. Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart that is commonly brought on by a viral infection.

Fatigua fatty liver disease, on the other hand, is characterized by fat accumulation in the liver and, according to the Mayo Clinic, is most commonly associated with alcoholism. (However, even moderate drinkers may develop the condition.) Diabetes and obesity are two additional prevalent etiologies of fatty liver.

The coroner issued the following statement: “All investigations into the demise of George Michael have been concluded, and the conclusive post-mortem report has been received.” “Since a confirmed natural cause of death of Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Myocarditis and Fatty Liver has been established, the investigation is being terminated and an inquest or further inquiries are unnecessary.”

Where Did George Michael Die?

A body was discovered at the residence of Michael in the English village of Goring-on-Thames, South Oxfordshire. According to his companion Fadi Fawaz, Michael was found unconscious in bed at the time of his lifeless body’s discovery.

Fawaz, according to a 911 contact, attempted to awaken Michael for one hour prior to dialing for assistance. During his conversation with the emergency dispatcher, Fawaz characterized the vocalist as “sombre” and “apathetic.” When asked if he believed Michael to be “dead,” Fawaz responded that he had attempted to revive him for a “hour” and now believed he was “gone.”

Reportedly, Fawaz replied to the operator’s inquiry regarding the “anticipated nature” of his demise as follows: “No, no, no, no, no, I’ve been waiting for him to wake him up for hours and he wouldn’t. When I went to wake him up, he was gone; he’s not there.”

In the days that followed the incident, Fawaz expressed via Twitter that it had been difficult to spend Christmas morning trying to revive his companion.

“I will never forget Christmas morning discovering your partner peacefully deceased in bed. It was Christmas.” “I shall eternally miss you xx,” he wrote on Twitter.

What Did George Michael Say in His Final Words?

Prior to his passing, Michael devoted the days preceding his own life to the production of a documentary titled George Michael: Freedom. More than a year following Michael’s demise, the 90-minute documentary aired in which he engaged in his final conversations. It contained references to his mother, Lesley, and his first passion, Anselmo.

Additionally, Michael claimed to have been “pounced upon by the gods.” The period spanning from Feleppa’s AIDS diagnosis to the passing of his mother was among the most somber he recalled.

“From the moment I discovered my partner’s whereabouts until the moment I was able to say that my mother was on the mend, I lived in constant dread. “It was either apprehension toward death or the subsequent bereavement,” he recalled. “I had never before experienced such profound depression.” “That period was the darkest.”

Due to the belief that Michael was alone the night before his death, his final moments remain unknown. Fawaz asserts that on Christmas Eve, he did not spend any time with Michael.
