Plum inherits her athletic prowess from her parents, Katie, an accomplished collegiate volleyball player who attended the University of California, Davis, and Jim, a distinguished basketball and All-American football player who excelled at San Diego State University. Furthermore, in addition to being accomplished volleyball players herself, both of her elder sisters, her brother, played tight ends for UC Davis.

Plum made her basketball debut during her senior year of high school, averaging close to 20 points per game. She ultimately decided to enroll at the University of Washington, where she was elected team captain. Plum currently possesses the most career points among women enrolled in colleges as of 2023. In addition, she was a member of the U19 Team of the United States that captured a gold medal at the Pan American Games.

After being selected first overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft, she was initially a member of the San Antonio Stars, an organization that underwent a rebranding in 2018 to become the Las Vegas Aces. Plum won the Women’s 3×3 competition at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, where she secured the gold medal.

She averaged more than 20 points per game, was named Most Valuable Player during her rookie season with the WNBA, and contributed to her team’s 2022 championship.

Leaks of information regarding their union and wedding ceremony confirmed their relationship.

It appears that Waller’s instructor at the time, Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels, was unaware that their relationship and wedding were under wraps. In a press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine, he disclosed that they were an item and that a wedding was imminent, specifying the location, date, and city.

The couple exchanged “I do” at GreenGale Farms in Las Vegas on March 4, 2023, three days later.

“I ultimately desired to keep it completely private from the team,” Waller stated on the AP Pro Football podcast. He subsequently disclosed information regarding the engagement that was also not widely known.

“We visited Torrey Pines [State Natural Preserve Park] while in San Diego, and there is a hike leading to the beach,” he disclosed on the podcast. A photographer accompanied us to a rocky vantage point overlooking the water. “That was precisely my intention for it.”

They Had A long-distance

A few days after their return from their honeymoon, Plum documented her delight on Instagram Story regarding her new husband’s monumental occasion. During the inaugural New York Giants press conference, he complimented his spouse on her adaptability.

“She supports me and wants to see me shine to my ultimate potential as a player while I still have the opportunity, so I’m grateful to have her support,” he indicated to reporters. “And we’re going to do whatever it takes to remain strong together, whatever the distance looks like, the timing of it.”

“I’m grateful to have somebody that understands how things work in an industry like this, and we just go forward and make the best of it what we can,” according to him.
