Randall Bryant Obituary: Randall Javann Bryant of Taylorsville passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, following a brief illness. Randy Kuykendall, a revered family patriarch, was born on November 30, 1943, in Lenoir to Hattie Regina Kuykendall.
After graduating from high school in 1962, Randy began working as a salesman at Phil’s Shoes, where he met his future wife, Connie. In 1975, Randy founded Sagittarius Sales in his basement to provide industrial cleaning products and materials to the furniture industry.
He has a strong sense of autonomy and a propensity for doing things his own way. Sagittarius Sales was established in 1979 and flourished under Randy’s business acumen; today, his children continue the business’s success.
Outside of work, Randy enjoyed ACC basketball, NASCAR motorsports, and Southern cuisine, particularly Lexington-style barbecue. Randy has always been interested in learning about diverse peoples and their histories. He fulfilled a lifelong ambition by visiting several foreign countries with the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce.
To share his enthusiasm for history with his children and nephews, Randy took them on battlefield excursions. Randy worked long hours to develop his business, but he still managed to find entertaining and educational activities for his wife and children.
