Sony’s PlayStation Portal handheld costs $269 in Canada, and pre-orders are now available: In Canada, the PlayStation Portal handheld will cost $269.99.
Along with the launch of pre-orders at various Canadian retailers, the price for the PS5 accessory was announced. Sony introduced the device earlier this year, but official Canadian pricing was not available until now.
With the PS Portal, you can stream your PS5 titles to the dedicated handheld, which features an 8-inch LCD screen and DualSense controller buttons. As part of the DualSense integration, the Portal will also offer the controller’s distinctive haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Notably, the Portal can only play games from your PS5 over a Wi-Fi connection; it does not support any native games. It also lacks Bluetooth compatibility with any standard wireless headphones, so you must instead purchase Sony’s Pulse Elite earpiece or Pulse Explore buds. Canadian pricing for either peripheral has not yet been disclosed, but in the United States, the Elite and Explore are priced at $149.99 USD (approximately $202 CAD) and $199.99 USD (approximately $270 CAD), respectively.
