Tarver Braddock Accident: On January 5, 2023, early on a Friday morning, Tarver Braddock, a 15-year-old student at Neville High School in Monroe, perished in a fire at a deer camp. In addition, the fire also caused injuries to five of his classmates.
Jeff Tannehill, coach of Neville High School football, texted USA TODAY Network about Tarver Braddock’s passing. Braddock’s family asked for everyone’s condolences and support during their time of grieving.
Tarver and a few other students were at a hunting camp in Jefferson County, Mississippi, early on Friday morning when a fire broke out on the porch, according to different accounts.
Tarver’s buddies attempted to rescue him from the burning camp, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The authorities found five injured and one dead students at the camp, Sheriff James Bailey said.

Two of the five students were hospitalised for smoke inhalation, according to the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office, while one was sent to the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s burn centre. KNOE reported that they have let go of the other two.
The faculty and students of Neville High School are in sorrow for Tarver Braddock, 15, who lost his life early on Friday morning in an explosion at a hunting camp. Many people expressed their condolences for Tarver, a junior defensive back for the school’s football team, the Tigers. Neville High School football coach Jeff Tannehill requested for prayers for Tarver’s family in a message provided to USA TODAY.
“The news of the fire that claimed the life of one of our players, Tarver Braddock, saddens us all very much. Please offer prayers at this trying time for the Braddock family. Please offer prayers for the families and those young guys who have been affected by this as well.”
