According to Variety, Tekashi 6ix9ine was taken to the hospital after being ambushed by a group of assailants in the lavatory of a South Florida gym.
According to his attorney Lance Lazzaro, the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, sustained facial injuries and discoloration.
Lazzaro asserted that the rapper attempted to defend himself but was assaulted by three or four individuals inside and outside of the LA Fitness sauna. According to Lazzaro, he had facial wounds and lacerations. Attorney claims that the offenders fled as soon as the employees heard the commotion.
Lazzaro reports that South Florida police were contacted, and Hernandez was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. It is unknown at this time if the rapper is still receiving medical care.
According to Lazzaro, Hernandez will be released from federal prison in April 2020, and he wishes for him to be protected. For his membership in the Nine Trey Bloods gang, Hernandez was apprehended in 2019 and sentenced to two years in prison on nine counts, including racketeering, drug trafficking, and firearm violations. Hernandez’s sentence was reduced after he assisted federal agents in sending his friends to prison. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the rapper was released early after he was deemed a “model prisoner” by the court.
In a video uploaded to Twitter, one of Hernandez’s assailants can be heard saying, “Take a picture.” I am about to gain notoriety. In a separate video, Hernandez was observed fleeing the gym while still bleeding.
Multiple media outlets report that Hernandez was removed from a baseball stadium in Miami on Friday because he was intoxicated and disturbing the crowd.
