However, DeSantis’ campaign has had difficulties, including recent staff changes and falling poll numbers. When questioned about DeSantis, Trump said he should drop out of the election. DeSantis’s popularity is on the decline, as evidenced by responses from focus groups and Republican strategists.

A representative for DeSantis, though, is remaining upbeat, saying that the true race is between Trump and DeSantis. Many fairgoers praised DeSantis for his efforts in Florida, but the vast majority showed more enthusiasm for Trump.

The visits of other prominent Republicans, such as tech tycoon Vivek Ramaswamy and ex-South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, were eclipsed by Trump’s.

While polls now show Trump with a sizable lead, analysts are split on whether or not that will hold up given his continuous legal troubles.
