Wife of Charlie Robison

Charlie Robison was divorced once and married twice in his lifetime. His second wife, Kristen Robison, had supplanted his first wife, Emily Robison, at the time of his death.

He married Emily Erwin, vocalist and songwriter for The Chicks, for the first time at age 35. The former couple exchanged vows at the Cibolo Creek Ranch on May 1, 1999. Emily had recently reached the age of 27.

Emily’s older sister Martha (later known as Martie) stated on a VH1 programme that she wrote the romantic hit song “Cowboy Take Me Away” for Charlie and Strayer during their courtship.

On August 6, 2008, after nine years of marriage, the couple announced their separation. Seven years passed before the musician could locate a new spouse. In 2015, he wed Kristen Robison, and the couple remained together until his death in September 2023.

Charlie emphasised that neither party was at fault for their divorce and added that their demanding jobs were a contributing factor. They had three children together. Charlie’s musical career terminated in 2018 because he was unable to sing due to complications from a medical procedure.

A Brief Exploration of the Life and Career of Charlie Robison

Before forming Millionaire Boys, Charlie Robison began his musical career in the 1980s by playing for Austin-based country ensembles including Chaparral and Two Hoots and a Holler.

Charlie Robison was born in Houston, Texas, on September 1, 1964, and educated in Bandera. However, he rose to prominence in 1996 after the release of his debut solo album, Bandera.

Two years after signing with Sony’s Lucky Dog Records and releasing his second album, Life of the Party, which included the hit tracks My Hometown and Sunset Boulevard, Robison became a household name.

Later, he produced the live album Unleashed Live, which he dedicated to his siblings, the singer-songwriters Bruce Robison and Robyn Ludwick, as well as his friend Jack Ingram.

I Want You Bad was included on the live album Step Right Up, which he released in 2001 after leaving Sony and contracting with Columbia Records and after releasing the album I Want You Bad. The tune reached the top 40 of the Hot Country Songs chart.

Robison ultimately transitioned from raw country to Southern hard rock and released a few more albums, including Good Times (2004), Beautiful Day (2009), and High Life (2013). He also released several cover versions of popular tracks by other artists, including Willie Nelson’s Stay All Night, Elton John’s Rocket Man, and JJ Cale’s Call Me the Breeze.

Robison lost his vocal ability in 2018 due to a complication from throat surgery, and he has since announced his retirement from both the stage and the recording studio. Last year, he relaunched his career by participating in a few music performances. It is noteworthy to note that Charlie Robison served as a judge for the first season of the music reality television series Nashville Star.
