Bruce Sudano was born in New York City’s Flatbush, Brooklyn, to Margaret Alessio (1924–2012) and Louis Sudano (1923–2008). Bruce began self-teaching himself to play the accordion when he was four years old.
He later taught himself to play the piano and the guitar. When he was twelve years old, he was given the opportunity to perform his first paid gig after gaining a reputation as a gifted musician in his neighbourhood.
Bruce joined his first band, Silent Souls, in the 1960s and played the bass guitar. He diligently practised and shortly began performing live at renowned New York City nightclubs.
