Who is Rachel Hollis?
Rachel Hollis is an American blogger, author, and motivational speaker. Her birthday is January 9, 1983. After completing high school, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, and obtained employment at Miramax. While working there, she met her future husband and founded Chic Events, an event planning company.
She has written three books on self-help, including Girl, Wash Your Face and Girl, Stop Apologizing. She faced opposition in 2021 after posting a controversial TikTok video.
In June 2020, after 16 years of marriage, Rachel announced in a lengthy post that she and Dave had decided to divorce. She wrote, “We have tirelessly laboured over the past three years to make this relationship work, and we have concluded that it is healthier and more respectful for us to choose this as the end of our journey as a married couple. Sincere speaking, the past month has been one of the worst of our lives. I wish I could be courageous and optimistic for you now, but I reserve every ounce of my strength for my children,” the lifestyle influencer said.
She added that they “remain dear friends” and will continue co-parenting and running their business together. In the subsequent month, Dave also took to Instagram to share his perspective. This comment has since been removed. Two days after their sixteenth wedding anniversary, Dave claimed that Rachel initiated the divorce with him.
The Hollis’ had previously renewed their vows every five years.
His May post, which was a photo from their 16th wedding anniversary, explained that he had removed the image two days later. “Rae told [him] she didn’t want to be married anymore. That [he] could only become the man and she the woman [they] were each truly meant to be… apart. So that post with memories we’d made left me embarrassed for a vision of a future that wasn’t shared,” Dave said.
