KBC 14: In 2022, which country changed the name of its capital from Nur-Sultan back to Astana?

Answer: Kazakhstan

Astana, previously known as Akmolinsk, Tselinograd, Akmola and most recently Nur-Sultan, is the capital city of Kazakhstan.

Following the resignation of Nursultan Nazarbayev on March 19, 2019, Astana was renamed Nur-Sultan in his honor. The name Astana was readopted in 2022 following a proposal by members of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
