KBC 14: In August 2022, Germany inaugurated a pioneering train fleet powered by what?
Answer: Hydrogen
Despite persistent supply issues, Germany has inaugurated a railway line powered entirely by hydrogen, a “world premiere” and a significant step forward for green train transport.
A fleet of 14 trains supplied by the French industrial giant Alstom to the German state of Lower Saxony has replaced diesel locomotives on the 100km (60 mile) track that connects the cities of Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Bremervoerde, and Buxtehude near Hamburg.
