Google delays the launch of its AI chatbot Gemini

Due to its greater processing capacity, Gemini is said to have outperformed GPT-4 in private testing.

AI chatbot Gemini: According to a recent Sammobile story, Google has decided to delay the introduction of Gemini, their next-generation AI chatbot, until early in the new year. The company was planning to unveil Gemini in November 2023, but internal testing revealed that the chatbot had trouble responding to some non-English questions.

Reportedly the most potent conversational AI developed by Google to date, Gemini was set to premiere at a number of events in California, New York, and Washington, D.C.

However, after learning that Gemini’s performance with questions that weren’t in English fell short of expectations, Google CEO Sundar Pichai decided to postpone the launch.

How To Use Google Lens Feature? Know about Functions and Specifications

Google wants to present Gemini as a better option than OpenAI’s GPT-4, but doing this will require global language support. Google thinks it’s too soon to release Gemini to the general public until it can prove its ability to handle inquiries that aren’t in English.

Google still believes that Gemini can surpass GPT-4 even with this delay. Due to its greater processing capacity, Gemini is said to have outperformed GPT-4 in private testing.

With Gemini 1.0, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has underlined the company’s dedication to creating a “competitive and state-of-the-art” product.

Sissie Hsiao, a vice president of Google, demonstrated Gemini’s abilities by saying, “I’ve seen some pretty amazing things.” For example, Gemini can draw three sketches showing me how to frost a three-layer cake if I’m trying to bake one. These are not merely photos from the internet; these are entirely original images.
