Carson Palmer Biography:

Early Life

Palmer was born on December 27, 1979, in Fresno, California. Palmer was very strong for his age when he was 12 years old. Palmer’s father signed him up for individual lessons with quarterback coach Bob Johnson. Palmer then went to Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and played football there. They would stop what they were doing to watch him play because he was so good. Palmer got offers from the University of Phoenix, the University of Colorado Boulder, San Diego State University, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of South California (U.S.C.) during his junior year. Career

Palmer chose to go to the University of Southern California and played football for the Trojans. As a freshman quarterback, Palmer quickly became a regular member of the first team. By his junior year, he was known as one of the best passers in the country. In his last year, he was chosen to win the Heisman Award. Palmer was picked first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2003 NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $42.69 million deal with them. For eight years, he played for the team and in 2005, after 15 years of almost wins, gave them their first win. After a year, Palmer badly hurt his anterior and medial collateral tendons, which required him to have reconstructive surgery. Before the 2006 season, he got better in time and ran for more than 4,000 yards for the first time in his career.

Palmer was moved to the Oakland Raiders in 2011 for a four-year, $43 million deal after having some problems with the Cincinnati Bengals. After two years, he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals, where he got a $16 million, two-year deal and a $24.35 million extension in 2016. Palmer had been told to wait eight weeks (October 26, 2017) because he had broken his arm by the time 2017 came around. Following a month, the Cardinals announced that Palmer would not be back for the season. Palmer then made the decision to retire from the NFL. Palmer is married to Shaelyn, who used to play for U.S.C. They have four kids together.
