Early Life

Every fan of metal music is familiar with the name Corey Taylor. He’s gained a place in the hearts of fans of metal music. Like all people, Taylor has experienced highs and lows in life, but unlike many, he has succeeded in both his personal and professional endeavors. His Dutch-Irish mother, who was of Irish and Native American descent, raised him primarily after his birth in Des Moines, Iowa. Unfortunately, he had developed a strong drug addiction by the time he was 15.

With the American band Stone Sour, which he and Ekman co-founded, he began his musical career in 1992. They recorded a demo album between 1992 and 1996. Taylor was asked to join the metal band Slipknot in 1997. He took the offer, dumping Stone Sour for the time being. Their self-titled self-debut album was released on August 27, 2002, and it peaked at number 46 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Their second album, “Come to What(ever) May,” made its debut at number four on the same chart in 2006. Taylor released Slipknot’s debut album, “Slipknot.” It quickly became popular in the United States, peaked at number one on the Top Heatseekers chart, and was included in the 2006 book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.” He was included in the horror film “Bullied” and cast in “Fear Clinic” in 2013.

Taylor’s marriage hasn’t always been smooth sailing. From his two failed marriages, he is the father of three girls. In 2004, he wed Scarlet for the first time; they got divorced in 2007. After that, in 2009, he wed Stephanie Luby, with whom he had his third daughter, before divorcing her in 2017. He wed Alicia Dove in 2019 and they have been together ever since.
