Jadakiss Birthday

Jadakiss, also known as Jason Terrance Phillips, is an American rapper renowned for his remarkable discography. Jadakiss, who was born in Yonkers, New York, on May 27, 1975, was influenced by hip-hop music at an early age. At age 12, he began freestyle rapping as a Gemini of African-American descent. Jadakiss engaged in numerous freestyle rap battles and amassed a substantial fan base. Jadakiss piqued the interest of the Ruff Ryders record label when he won one of these contests in Florida. After he and his companions formed The Warlox, a rap group, the trio started rapping immediately. Eventually, they won over Mary J. Blige, who then played their demo for Sean Combs, a.k.a. Puff Daddy. Combs chose the name The Lox for the rap group because it seemed to fit them best.

The Lox debuted on ‘Set It Off’ by Main Source in 1994. The band quickly began to compose and perform hit compositions. They have contributed to compositions such as ‘Last Day’ by Notorious B.I.G. and ‘Honey’ by Mariah Carey. Notorious B.I.G took Jadakiss under his tutelage and developed a close relationship with The Lox. In 1997, following the death of Notorious B.I.G., The Lox issued their first hit single, ‘We’ll Always Love Big Poppa,’ a tribute to the late rapper. This recording was certified multi-platinum by the R.I.A.A. In 1998, the band released their debut studio album titled “Money, Power & Respect.” The album ruled the charts and was certified platinum. The Lox departed Bad Boy Records due to creative differences and signed with Ruff Ryders. In 2000, their second album, “We Are The Streets,” was released. The album, which featured Timbaland, Eve, and Swizz Beatz, was another success.

Jadakiss moved solo in 2001. In August, he released his debut album titled “Kiss Tha Game Goodbye.” This album featured several notable artists, including The Alchemist, DMX, Snoop Dogg, and Eve. This album received Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. 2004 saw the release of his second studio album, ‘Why?’ which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. He contracted with Jay-Roc-A-Fella Z’s Records in 2007. Jadakiss went on to release three more studio albums, with “Ignatius” (2020) being his most recent. Jadakiss is one of the most well-known hip-hop performers in the United States. His accomplishment as one of the greats is shared with his family and four children. He never got married.
