In Syracuse, New York, Rodman Edward Serling was born in the United States. Esther Serling was his mother, and she was a housewife. Career
Due to the Great Depression, Serling’s father was forced to close his store and begin working as a butcher. In 1926, the family moved to Binghamton, New York, where Serling grew up for the most part.
