Sean Patrick Payton was born in San Mateo, California, on December 29, 1963. He was the quarterback for Naperville Central High School. He grew up in Naperville, Illinois. Sean Payton continued his football career at Eastern Illinois University, where he was successful and helped lead the Panthers to an 11-2 record and the Division 1-AA Playoffs quarterfinals in 1986.
