He grew up in Manhattan in an apartment with his mother, who used to dance and act on Broadway, his French-born father, who worked on publications for UNICEF, and his older sister Pauline, who was a ballet dancer and actress who became famous when she was cast in the HBO show The Sex Lives of College Girls in 2021. Timothée Hal Chalamet is an actor who was born in New York City on December 27, 1995. Timothée’s parents are Nicole Flender, a real estate agent and dancer, and Marc Chalamet, an editor for UNICEF. His Jewish mother is from New York and comes from a family of Russian and Austrian Jews. His father comes from Nimes, France, and has French and English roots. He is Rodman Flender’s nephew and Harold Flender’s grandson. Their father was a director. He has a brother named Pauline Chalamet. He grew up in an artistic family and was in ads and New York theater while he was at LaGuardia High School of Music, Art, and the Performing Arts. Timothée went to Columbia University for a while too.

Career

He has been in “The Talls” by Anna Kerrigan and “Prodigal Son” by John Patrick Shanley, both plays about real people. He was the lead in “Law & Order” (1990), had a small part in the movie “Loving Leah” (2009), and has had bigger roles in “Royal Pains” (2009) and “Homeland” (2011), among other things. For his movie debut, he played a high school student in Jason Reitman’s “Men, Women, and Children” (2014) and Matthew McConaughey’s character’s preteen son in “Interstellar” (2014). Along with playing the younger version of writer Stephen Elliott in “The Adderall Diaries” (2015), he also played the male lead, Zac, in the drama “One and Two” (2015) and the lead in the road trip drama “Miss Stevens” (2016).

In 2017, he became famous for his parts as a soldier in “Hostiles,” as the main character’s high school crush in “Lady Bird,” and as Elio in Luca Guadagnino’s drama “Call Me by Your Name.” Timothée’s performance as Elio was praised.
