A List of Shakti Peeths: The Shakti Peethas is places of worship dedicated to the divinity Shakti or Sati, the female deity of Hinduism and the principal deity of the Shakta sect. They are dispersed throughout the subcontinent of India.

A List of Shakti Peeths

1. Lankayam Sankaridevi

In the Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas, Sankaridevi is the first manifestation of Shakti to be worshipped. The Shankara Devi Temple and the Shakti Peetha are located on a hillock near Trincomalee on the present-day west coast of Sri Lanka. This location is also referred to as Thirukoneswaram. It is known as the location where the mother’s ‘thigh part’ fell.

2. Kamakshi Kanchika Pure

Kamakshi is a creator of energy with eyes that grant wishes. The Kanchi Kamakshi Devi temple is situated 75 kilometres from Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is said that the skeleton, a portion of the mother’s corpse, fell here.

3. Pradyumne Shrunkaladevi

Velasindi Kshetra is situated in the village of Pandava in the Hooghly District, approximately 85 kilometres from present-day Calcutta in the province of West Bengal. Over time, during Mohammedan rule, the sanctuary was demolished and a minaret was constructed on top. The Indian government declared it an off-limits zone. A chain is a restraint. 6. Srisaila Bhramarambika

Srisailam is a well-known Saiva temple located on Dakshinapatham. The Sri Bhramarambika Mallikarjuna temple is 150 kilometres away from Kurnool. It is believed that Goddess Sati collapsed on her neck at this location. The nearby Ishtakameshwari Temple is one of the earliest temples in the forest.

7. Kolhapur Mahalakshmi

8. Mahurye Ekaveenika

Ekaveenika is the vitality source for Mahurye Puram. Makudyapuram is located 125 kilometres from the Maharashtra metropolis of Nanded. It is known as the location where the ‘right hand’ of the mother collapsed.

The spot where Sati collapsed on her upper lip. The Mahabaleshwar Jyotirlangam and Mahakali Temple are located 50 kilometres from the Madhya Pradesh city of Indore. The area is renowned as a magnificent field. With mantras and tantras, Mahakali flourishes as an illustrious force.

10. Peethikayam (Pithapuram) Puruhutika

Pithapuram, situated 13 kilometres from Samarthkotta in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, was formerly known as Peethikapuram and has since been shortened to Pithapuram. Here is Srichakram, the goddess’s golden sari. Every Friday, this sari is adorned for the vendors.

11. Odhyayam Girija Devi

Odyanam signifies the land of Odhra, formerly Orissa. Ammavaru emerged as the embodiment of the Trishakti on the banks of the Vaitarani River near Cuttack in the contemporary state of Orissa. This location is also referred to as Vaitarani Puram. The Girija Devi Temple (also known as Bhirijadevi) is situated 20 kilometres from Jaipur Road in Orissa. It is said that the genital position of Sati Devi fell here.

12. Manikyam Dakshavatike (Vineyard)

It is the first of the Pancharamalas and the twelfth of the Ashtadasha Peethas where Goddess Sati fell. Manikyamba is the founder of a vineyard in the Andhra Pradesh district of East Godavari. This is the spot in Dakshayagyan where the goddess Sati was sacrificed. The field is renowned for its opulence, salvation, and grandeur.

13. Harikshetre Kamarupa

Velasinadi Kshetra is situated in Neelachalam on the shores of the Brahmaputra River in the Assam state capital of Guwahati. The location where Sati Devi’s ‘vagina’ plummeted to the ground. The blue contains a gemstone resembling a female vagina. This granite emits a thin stream of water. Redwater occurs annually for three days. The temple will be closed for three days due to the mother’s menstruation. The ceremony of consecration occurs on the fourth day.

14. Prayage Madhaveshwari

The location of Prayag Kshetra is Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. According to legend, Sati Devi is the location where ‘hand fingering’ collapsed. The point where the rivers Yumana and Ganga meet. Shakti is also known as Madhaveshwari. Galati field is essential for embryology and bone immersion.

15. Jwalayam Vaishnavi Devi

The domain of knowledge. Kotra is located approximately 50 kilometres from Jammu in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. From there, you can ride a horse or take a helicopter up the hill to visit the Jwalamukhi or Vaishno Devi Temple. This temple contains a grotto. The silver umbrella made by Mughal Emperor Akbar Badsha, which he walked up the hill with his hands and presented to the deity, is still in the temple today.

16. Gayayam Mangalya Gauri
