During the two-day Pedagogy Workshop organised by the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies at Aligarh Muslim University and the Indian Association for Women’s Studies (IAWS) from February 28 to March 1, faculty members, experts, and students discussed various aspects of pedagogy for teachers of women’s studies.
Prof. Azra Musavi, director of the centre, stated that the workshop’s objectives were to discuss the pedagogical tools of Women’s Studies and to enrich the knowledge of the teachers of women’s studies, both in the classroom and in field interactions.
The opening session was followed by sessions on the institutionalisation, intersectionality, interdisciplinarity, and employability of Women’s Studies.

The resource persons were Professors N Manimeakalai (Bharthidasan University, Tamil Nadu), Indu Agnihotri (CWDS, New Delhi), Poonam Kakoti Borah (Gauhati University, Assam), Manjit Bhatia (University of Delhi), Niyati Krishna (Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development), and Tarushikha Sarvesh (AMU).
Dr. Tauseef Fatima and Mr. Sheeraz Ahmed were the workshop’s co-coordinators.
The workshop was attended by faculty members and research scholars from multiple states, including Maharashtra, Assam, Kashmir, New Delhi, and Rajasthan.
