AMU mourns the sad demise: At a condolence meeting held today at the department, the faculty, students, and non-teaching staff of the Department of Medicine, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, expressed their deep grief over the sad passing of Prof. S.G. Tiwari, the former Chairman of the Department of Medicine, and offered heartfelt tributes to him. After a brief illness, on December 4, 2023, he passed away.
AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Gulrez expressed the university’s profound sorrow over his passing, saying, “We share the grief that his family is feeling on their sad departure.”

He claimed that his passing leaves a huge vacuum that will be difficult to replace for his friends, family, peers, and students. He prayed for a better place in the afterlife and expressed his sincere solidarity with his family members.
Prof. Anjum Parvez, the department chairman, read out a sympathy statement, stating that the department “conveys heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.”
