Orientation programme: The Aligarh Muslim University’s Centre for Continuing and Adult Education and Extension organised an orientation workshop for newly enrolled students of a three-month course in Microsoft Office and Computer Fundamentals.
After becoming familiar with the current applications of Desk Top Publishing (DTP), Microsoft Publisher, Photoshop, Corel Draw, e-mailing and texting on social media platforms like X (Tweeter), whats app, Facebook, etc., the chief guest, Prof. Arman Rasool Faridi (Department of Computer Science, AMU), emphasised the importance of computer learning to earn a living in his address.

They would be able to start their own computer facility centre to offer services to people for various government programmes, like as the Ayushman health card, e-Sharam card, Adhaar card, voter card, etc., or it will help them find a job with reputable organisations more quickly.
Dr. Shamim Akhtar, the center’s director, had earlier welcomed the visitors and participants and highlighted the topics covered in the three-month course that the centre runs on a regular basis. He gave a brief introduction to the centre and the faculty members who work there and asked the students to talk to their instructors if they are having any difficulties with the course.
