
Delhi University to provide PhD admissions: In the upcoming academic year, Delhi University will admit students to PhD programmes via the Common University Entrance Test (PhD) administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), officials announced on Friday. This will be the first time Delhi University will admit students to PhD programmes via a standardised test as opposed to written exams and interviews.
At the meeting of the Executive Council, a number of resolutions, including the 5-year LLB programme, were approved.
“PhD admission will be based on CUET (PhD)-2023 on the recommendation of the Standing Committee of the Academic Council, after deliberations on various matters related to admission and attendance of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD programmes for the academic session 2023-24,” the university said in a statement.
Delhi University to provide PhD admissions
In 2022, DU began enrolling students to UG courses via CUET-UG and will admit students to PG courses via CUET PG.
The NTA will administer the CUET (PhD)-2023 entrance examination. Officials have confirmed that individuals employed in teaching and non-teaching positions within the university are eligible to partake in interviews directly.
“Teaching and non-teaching staff members may be permitted to attend classes and take exams without affecting their office hours responsibilities.” These PhD regulations will take effect during the academic year 2023-2024,” it added.
During the same meeting, the Medical Science Courses Admission Committee’s (MCAC) eligibility criteria and seat allocation recommendations for undergraduate courses (MBBS/BDS) for the Academic Session 2023-2024 were approved. In addition, admission to the MSc Respiratory Therapy programme will also be handled via CUET (PG)-2023.
